Cabarrus County Schools celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the new Mary Frances Wall Center at Beverly Hills on Friday, August 7, 2026, at noon, marking a major investment in early childhood education and the continuation of a legacy that has served Cabarrus County's youngest learners for more than 15 years.

Located on the former Beverly Hills Elementary School campus in Concord, the new center replaces the previous Mary Frances Wall Center with a modern facility designed specifically for Pre-K students. The project includes 25,000 square feet of new construction and the renovation of 10,000 square feet of existing space, creating classrooms, specialized instructional areas, support services, and administrative offices to serve up to 300 students.

The center features secure outdoor playgrounds, expanded parent drop-off and pick-up areas, a fully enclosed campus, and learning spaces designed to support both traditional preschool instruction and specialized services.

Originally established in 2011 at the former A.T. Allen Elementary School to replace the aging Long School facility, the Mary Frances Wall Center was created to expand the district's early childhood programs and bring preschool education and support services together in one location. The Board of Education named the center in honor of Mary Frances "Frankie" Wall, a beloved longtime kindergarten teacher whose dedication helped shape early childhood education in Cabarrus County.

"The Mary Frances Wall Center represents our commitment to giving every child a strong start," said Superintendent Dr. John Kopicki. "This new facility provides an exceptional learning environment where our youngest students can grow, learn, and build the foundation for future success."

The project was designed by YCH Architects of Concord and constructed by G.W. Liles Construction Company, Inc.
