Personnel announcement

Superintendent Dr. John Kopicki has announced the following personnel appointments, which were approved by our Board of Education on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Tiffany Nickel, assistant principal at R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary, has been named principal of the school, replacing Jessica Blanchard, who recently transferred to the principal position at Harold E. Winkler Middle School. She will begin her new role at R. Brown McAllister immediately.
Tiffany joined Cabarrus County Schools in 2015 as a classroom teacher at Bethel Elementary School before stepping into the role of elementary math specialist for the district in 2018. She was named assistant principal at R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary in 2021.
Tiffany earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York College at Geneseo and a master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University.
Daniel Barringer, director of transportation for Lexington City Schools (LCS), has been named assistant director of transportation for Cabarrus County Schools, replacing Matt Hurlocker, who was named director of transportation earlier this school year. Dan will begin his new role with Cabarrus County Schools on February 2.
Prior to his current position with LCS, Dan served as a district supervisor and bus driver trainer for the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) and as a correctional sergeant with the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
Congratulations to Tiffany on her new role in the district and in welcome Dan to Cabarrus County Schools.
