❄️Winter weather communications reminders❄️
Posted Date: 01/23/26 (08:39 AM)
As winter weather moves into the area, here are a few important reminders to help families stay informed and safe:
- ParentSquare is the first stop 📱ParentSquare is our primary way to share updates about delays, closures, and remote learning days with parents and students. If you do not currently have the ParentSquare app on your cell phone, it is the BEST way to receive district communications. You may download the ParentSquare app here on Google Play or the App Store.
- Keep notifications on ⏰ Decisions are shared as early as possible, but changing conditions may require updates later.
- Look for clear details 📝 Messages will explain whether the day is a delay, remote learning day, or closure—and what that means for students and staff.
- Use multiple channels 📢 Weather updates are also shared on the CCS Website, ParentSquare, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and local media channels.
- Safety comes first ❤️ Decisions are made with student and staff safety as the top priority, using forecasts, road conditions, and guidance from local emergency management and public safety agencies.
- Update your contact info 🔄 Make sure your phone number and email address in ParentSquare are current so you don’t miss alerts.
- Trust official CCS messages ✅ Please rely on district communications rather than rumors or screenshots as conditions can change quickly.
- Transportation matters 🚌 Cabarrus County is 364 square miles and road conditions can vary greatly across the county, especially for buses, which is why district decisions may not reflect the conditions on roadways in your own neighborhood or area.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep everyone informed this winter. Stay warm, stay safe, and take care!
