Behind the Scenes
Before the first bell rings, CCS School Nutrition teams are already hard at work—prepping meals, fueling minds, and making sure students are ready to learn. From early mornings to busy lunch periods, these dedicated professionals keep our schools running by serving nutritious meals with care and consistency.

"The thing I love most about working in SNP is that I get to see and engage with every student throughout the school at least once, if not twice a day. Some of the kiddos have became my in-house best friends, and they know exactly the right timing of when we need the hugs and special letters." - Kimberly Williams
"I enjoy working at SNP by preparing food for the children, seeing their faces when they get to the food line because we are serving their favorite meal. Enjoy the antics and smiles of the kids. Also, working with women who are also great colleagues, we have a good team.” - Yanira Isabel
"My favorite thing about working for SNP is seeing every child receive breakfast and lunch with a full meal." - Alexis Turner
"The thing I love most about working for SNP is multiple things. I love hearing the kids talk about their day or week, getting smiles and "good mornings" at breakfast. I love that we can feed kids ,at this school particularly ,that might not get a decent meal at home. They leave happy and hopefully full. The kids are genuinely appreciative and thankful for us, the service we provide and the food. I am also thankful that I have a staff that is happy to be here and to engage with "our" kids. We all want to provide a great service that will have a long lasting impact on their day and life. I think we can say that we are the lucky ones to provide this wonderful service for them through this wonderful program that we have." - Coleen Watts, CN Manager at WMIES
Why It Matters
School Nutrition workers play a vital role in student success. By providing healthy meals in a welcoming environment, they support student well-being, focus, and learning—one tray at a time.
