The Cabarrus County Board of Education has approved new elementary school attendance boundaries for Cox Mill Elementary, W.R. Odell Primary, W.R. Odell Elementary and Charles E. Boger Elementary Schools. The new boundaries will be effective for the 2020-2021 school year. Please use the Find My School map to find your school assignment.

If your child is a rising 5th grade student, they can remain at their current school if:

    • You will provide timely transportation to and from school.
    • The student remains in good standing in terms of grades, discipline, and attendance (limited absences and tardies) as described in Cabarrus County Board of Education Policy 4115 and the Program Choice Expectations Agreement.
    • The residence does not change to another school boundary or district.

This privilege is extended only to rising fifth grade students for the 2020-21 school year and will not be extended to younger siblings in the same school. In order for your rising 5th grade student to remain at their current school, you MUST complete the 2020-21 Transition Year Application by Friday, March 13, 2020.

April 2019 -- Hickory Ridge Elementary School/West Cabarrus High School Approved Realignment

The Cabarrus County Board of Education approved new elementary, middle and high school attendance boundaries for the 2020-2021 school year during its business meeting in April 2019. The realignment of school attendance zones is being implemented to prepare for the opening of West Cabarrus High School and Hickory Ridge Elementary School in August 2020. In addition, the new school construction provides an opportunity for the district to address overcrowding while accommodating student growth. The realignment was conducted by an independent third party and was developed through a community-based volunteer committee. To see if the school assignment for your home address has been impacted by the realignment for 2020-2021, please use the Find My School map below.
