Program Choice Themes for the 24-25 School Year

Locate your home school to see your zoned Program Choice School.

Please note: our Fine Arts, CVA, Early College and High School Academies are not based on specific home school locations and are not displayed.

Please keep in mind that no realignment decisions have been made at this time.  Per our current timeline, a final decision on realignment will be made in February 2024.

In the past, families may not have applied to a programmatic theme if it aligned with their neighborhood (zoned) school. 

However, for the 2024-2025 school year, current families interested in the continuation of a program must apply during our program choice window in order to be considered. As you know, this window is currently open and will be extended through December 31st, 2023.

Application Timeline

Applications for the 2024-25 school year will be open from Tuesday, October 17, 2023 to Sunday, December 31, 2023. Parent notification of placement will occur in the online family dashboard on February 15, 2024.

Parents will have until February 28, 2024 to make a decision and accept a seat in their online dashboard. Any seats not accepted within this window will be forfeited to waitlisted students. 

• Monday, October 16, 2023 - Program Choice Fair at The Cabarrus Arena and Events Center Gold Hall along with Cabarrus County Schools "Futures Fair" from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
• Tuesday, October 17, 2023 - Program Choice applications for the 2024-25 school year open.
• October 17th thru December 15th - Program Open Houses held at each Program Choice school.
• Sunday, December 31, 2023- Applications close at midnight.
• On February 15, 2024 - Parent notification of placement will occur in the online family dashboard .

Demand for CCS Program Choice currently exceeds seat availability.  A randomized lottery is used to select students for placement.  Notifications of placement are sent in February to the families of all applicants.  Students who are not admitted at the end of the application period shall be placed on a waiting list in the order determined by the randomized lottery.  Students shall be admitted from the waiting list as space becomes available, up to the first student school day in the order that he/she appears on the waiting list.  

To begin the application process:

1.  Log in to your ScribOnline account using your email address at https://ccsprogramchoice.scriborder.com/ 
2. If you do not have an existing account, please see these directions on how to create an account and associate a student.
3. Select the green "Begin Application" button on the righthand side of the screen.
4. Select the blue button under the student for which you are submitting the application.
5. Click on the link for the program for which you are applying. Hit the "Select" button.
6. Complete all application fields and use the "Proceed" button at the bottom of the page.
7. You will receive a confirmation email and number when the application is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation number, your application has NOT been submitted.

Proceso de Asignación
La demanda del programa CCS Choice supera actualmente la disponibilidad de plazas.  Se utiliza una lotería aleatoria para seleccionar a los estudiantes.  Las notificaciones de asignación se envían en febrero a las familias de todos los solicitantes.  Los estudiantes que no sean aceptadas al final del período de solicitud serán colocados en una lista de espera en el orden determinado por la lotería aleatoria.  Los alumnos serán admitidos de la lista de espera a medida que haya plazas disponibles, hasta el primer día lectivo del alumno en el orden en que aparezca en la lista de espera.

We are requesting that parents/guardians who have already been through the application process and accepted a seat in a current program choice school, complete the intent form linked below for each child.

Please keep in mind that no realignment decisions have been made at this time.  Per our current timeline, a final decision on realignment will be made in February 2024.

When choosing programmatic theme, you elect a program and not a school.  If your scholar is realigned to another school, your program choice location may change. This primarily impacts our STEM and Dual Language students since these programs have multiple feeders. If that does happen, families will have the option to:

• Attend the program choice they are realigned to.
• Return to their home school and elect to remove their seat before the start of the new school year.

The Program Choice office will contact all families that are impacted by the realignment once an option is decided.

We understand that many of you have heard information about completing an application for some of our programs for the upcoming school year. This is primarily for our whole school IB/STEM programs.

We want to clarify that if your child attends any of the schools below through the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Mandarin or Spanish program, you are neither required nor expected to reapply. Currently, we have your application on file for the DLI program, and this is sufficient for the time being.

¿Qué ocurre si mi hijo está en un programa de inmersión en dos lenguas (DLI)?

Entendemos que muchos de ustedes han escuchado información acerca de completar una solicitud para algunos de nuestros programas para el próximo año escolar. Esto es principalmente para nuestros programas IB/STEM de toda la escuela.

Queremos aclarar que si su hijo asiste a cualquiera de las escuelas que se indican a continuación a través del Programa De Inmersión en Dos Idiomas (DLI) en mandarín o español, no se le exige ni se espera que vuelva a solicitar plaza. For our scholars who have chosen a high school academy through Program Choice, they can remain in that academy regardless of possible realignment. 

This is for Program Choice High School students currently enrolled in the following Academies:

• Academy of Information Technology
• Academy of Financial Technology
• Academy of Health Science
• Academy of Hospitality and Tourism
• Academy of Public Safety

Keep in mind, transportation is not provided for our academy students. Bus transportation will be impacted if you are a part of an academy that is your homeschool and your homeschool changes based on realignment.

Parents are applying to a programmatic theme, which in many cases is based on their home school location. If selected in the lottery for a program and the school location for the program changes due to realignment, we will contact any affected families and provide them the option to return to their home school or attend the program at the newly designated location.
