Learning where healing happens: Inside Cabarrus Health Sciences Institute

At Cabarrus Health Sciences Institute (CHSI), students aren’t just preparing for college—they’re preparing for careers that change lives.
Through an innovative partnership between Cabarrus County Schools, Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, and Advocate Health (Atrium Health), CHSI students earn high school and college credit while learning on a real hospital campus.
From college-level coursework to hands-on lab dissections and clinical experiences, CHSI students are building skills, confidence, and a clear pathway to the healthcare workforce.
“Our students are trained in the ways of Atrium Health from the ground up—and they’re learning it all on a hospital campus,” said Principal Ashley Short.
