Generative AI Vision

Cabarrus County Schools’ vision is to empower students and educators to use artificial intelligence to enhance teaching and learning while upholding academic integrity, safeguarding data privacy, and fostering responsible digital citizenship. Through a clear and supportive framework, we aim to promote thoughtful, ethical, and innovative engagement with AI, guiding users in navigating its possibilities and challenges with confidence and care.

We promote ongoing professional development and access to resources that support the responsible, creative, and thoughtful use of AI technologies. Our goal is to equip learners with the critical thinking and digital citizenship skills needed to thrive in an AI-infused world.

At the same time, we are equally committed to integrity and privacy. The district upholds the responsible use of AI, discouraging practices such as cheating, misuse of generative tools, or violations of privacy and data security.

AI Training for Staff

Trainer Training – November 14th 
Media Coordinators and Instructional Tech Facilitators received training on AI guidelines and expectations.  An AI canvas course is available to all staff, including all resources and information.

Media Coordinators and Instructional Tech Facilitators trained staff at school sites on AI guidelines and expectations.

AI tools can support learning when used properly.  Consider the following uses.

Student AI Suggestions for Responsible Use:  

Seek Permission from teachers on the assignment-specific expectations.

Cite AI tools when used for research or content generation. 

Verify that AI tools are approved for use.  Approved AI can be found below.

Do not enter personal information (e.g., full name, address, passwords) into AI platforms.

Uses of Generative AI in Education

Acceptable Uses of AI

Teachers reserve the right to prohibit the use of AI on specific assignments.  Students are responsible for obtaining clarity on acceptable uses. 


Students may use AI tools for:
✅ Brainstorming ideas for assignments and projects
✅ Summarizing complex topics to improve understanding
✅ Generating practice questions and study guides
✅ Enhancing writing through grammar and style suggestions
✅ Assisting with coding and computational thinking

AI tools should complement learning, not replace student effort.

 

Prohibited Uses of AI


Students may NOT use AI tools for:
🚫 Submitting AI-generated content as original work without disclosure
🚫 Using AI for cheating (e.g., generating full essays, solving test problems)
🚫 Creating false or misleading information
🚫 Generating or sharing inappropriate, harmful, or biased content
🚫 Violating privacy by entering personal or sensitive data into AI tools

 

Students must follow the school's academic integrity policies when using AI.
