NC Public Schools: Every child's chance...Every community's future

CCS Participates in Statewide Public School Support Campaign

Cabarrus County Schools is joining with other school systems across the state to participate in a statewide campaign to build support for North Carolina’s public schools.

The campaign to build support and respect for North Carolina Public Schools was developed by the North Carolina Association of School Administrators (NCASA) and the North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA). Representatives of the organizations came together in January to start developing the campaign after many of North Carolina’s school superintendents indicated that building support for public schools was a top priority across the state. The campaign for public schools has three main goals:

  1. Creating an understanding of how public education supports the financial health of North Carolina.
  2. Defeating the myth that “public schools are broken.”
  3. Instilling the conviction that traditional public schools are the best choice for North Carolina students and families.

The campaign will continue throughout 2014 and will culminate with a special event in Rockingham County next January to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the state’s first public school opening – January 20, 1840.

Beginning this week, banners bearing the campaign’s slogan and logo were placed throughout our community and across the state. The logo conveys the message that North Carolina’s public schools are growing and vibrant and that they are open to all students. It also communicates that the future and well-being of N.C. communities depend upon the ongoing delivery of a free and quality public education.

The campaign also features a website: www.everychildschancenc.org. The logo is designed to help convey the message that North Carolina’s public schools are growing and vibrant and that they are open to all students. It also communicates that the future and well-being of N.C. communities depend upon the ongoing delivery of a free and quality public education. The logo will appear in newspaper ads, videos, billboards, banners, and other publications across the state.

CCS will continue to promote the NC Public Schools campaign throughout the remainder of this school year and during the 2014-2015 school year via our district website and social media sites.
