BOE updates

The Cabarrus County Board of Education met on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, for a monthly business meeting. Here is an update of recognitions, reports, and approved consent and action items from the meeting. 

RECOGNITIONS 

Equitable Impact Through Education Awards for January were presented to the following students and staff members: 

  • Royal Oaks School of the Arts

REPORTS 

The Board heard the following presentations: 

  • Cooperative Strategies Executive Director Justin Rich was joined by Dr. Jonathan Bowers, CCS Chief of Auxilary Services and Academic Performance, to update the Board on the status of the district’s Long-Range Realignment Study. 

  • Dr. Bowers, Brian Cone, CCS Director of Architecture and Planning, and Tim Lowder, CCS Executive Director of Construction, presented the district’s Long-Range Facilities Master Plan to the Board.

The Board voted to approve the following consent agenda items:

  • Calendar Revision to change the Early College High School 2025 Graduation Date

  • CCS Amended Budget Resolution #001
