BHES Student Wins Art Contest

Congratulations to Samuel Burleson, a 4th grade student at Beverly Hills STEM Elementary School, whose artwork was selected as one of the winners of the 2022 NC Farm to School Art Contest.


Samuel’s artwork, along with 12 others, will be featured in the 2022-2023 NC Farm to School calendar. Samuel’s art will be featured for the month of September in the calendar. Student artists were recognized at an awards reception in Raleigh on May 20th.


Three other CCS students also earned Honorable Mention for their artwork. Congratulations also to:

  • Ximena Rivera, 4th grade, Patriots STEM Elementary School   
  • Samriddhi Shreemayee, 4th grade Patriots STEM Elementary School
  • Finley Stephens, 5th grade, R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary School                                                    


NC Farm to School received more than 4,200 entries for this year’s contest.


NC Farm to School was founded in 1997 because of North Carolina public schools’ desire to source fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the state and N.C. farmers who were growing a variety of produce that could meet the needs of schools and were looking for new markets. Visit to learn more.
