National School Lunch Week

wild about school lunch

Cabarrus County Schools is celebrating National School Lunch Week (NSLW) from October 11-14. This year’s theme “Wild About School Lunch” recognizes the importance of animal conservation and humane treatment of animals, plus the importance of sustainable agriculture and responsible waste management practices to ensure that all Earth’s creatures thrive for generations to come. Special thanks to our CCS School Nutrition staff during NSLW and all month for their amazing, dedicated efforts to provide appealing, nutritious school meals every day.

CCS School Nutrition experts encourage students (and parents) to walk on the wild side and explore the delicious, nutritious school lunches featured in your school cafeteria by visiting the October school lunch menu.

Share your National School Lunch Week pictures with us by using the hashtags #NSLW2021, #WILDSchoolLunch and #CabCoSchools on social media. Be sure to follow the CCS School Nutrition Program (@cabcokidscafe) on Instagram and Twitter!

National School Lunch Week is the perfect time to celebrate all of the healthy options we’re serving every day!

About National School Lunch Week

The National School Lunch Program serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a student’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.
