Congratulations to Krista Eason, assistant principal at Carl A. Furr Elementary School, who has been selected as the 2021-2022 Assistant Principal of the Year for Cabarrus County Schools.
Eason was surprised by Superintendent Kopicki at her school on Monday, September 20th.
Eason has served as assistant principal of Carl A. Furr Elementary since 2020. Prior to Furr, she served as an assistant principal at Harrisburg Elementary School for four years. Eason also previously was an Instructional Technology Facilitator for four years and a classroom teacher for 14 years.
In 2016, she earned a post-graduate certification in educational leadership from Appalachian State University. She earned a master’s in education in instructional technology from East Carolina University in 2014, and she began her journey in education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte earning a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education in 1998.
According to Principal Roberts, “We are very fortunate that Mrs. Eason joined the Furr Family last year, and we are excited that she has received this much-deserved recognition! Mrs. Eason completes an endless number of duties and responsibilities each day. Regardless of the task or challenge at hand, she always maintains a positive and calm demeanor in all situations. She has a wealth of curriculum knowledge, which she routinely shares with staff. Mrs. Eason's communication is clear and timely. Her love for children is palpable, and she dedicates her time and energy to supporting staff, students, and families in any way she can. We are so proud of Mrs. Eason, and we are privileged that she is a Furr Falcon!”
CCS assistant principals nominate and vote among their peers for the Assistant Principal of the Year Award based on a set of criteria, and a panel comprised of former CCS Principals of the Year selects the winner based upon an interview and artifact presentation.
Congratulations Mrs. Eason, our 2021-2022 Cabarrus County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year!
