Congressional Art Competition Winners Announced 06/11/2020

 

Two Cabarrus County School high school students were selected as winners for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition for the 8th District. Congratulations to the following artists who competed against 12 students across the region:

 

  • 1st Place: ‘Muhammad Ali’ by Lanie Sorrow, Cox Mill High School  
  • 3rd Place: ‘I Spy a Cat’ by Autumn Irby, Concord High School

Lanie Sorrow’s work will be displayed for one year at the National Gallery in the US Capitol and Autumn Irby’s work will be displayed for one year at Congressman Richard Hudson’s office in Concord, NC. Congratulations are also in order for the teachers Courtney Leaym (CMHS) and Quin Dionne (CHS).
