Personnel Appointments 05/13/2020

 

Superintendent Chris Lowder announced the following personnel appointments today.

 

Richard Money, assistant principal at Concord Middle School, has been named principal of Mount Pleasant Elementary School, replacing Corey Cochran who retired earlier this school year.

 

Money, who is the 2020 CCS Assistant Principal of the Year, joined Cabarrus County Schools as a social studies teacher at the Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School in 2012. He served as a full-time principal intern at Harris Road Middle School before joining the leadership team at Hickory Ridge Middle School in 2016. He transferred to Concord Middle School in 2019.

 

He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also completed graduate studies at East Carolina University. Money also was a North Carolina Principal Fellow.

 

He will begin his new assignment on June 1, 2020.

 

DaLea Beane, interventionist for grades 3-5 at Carl A. Furr Elementary School, has been named assistant principal at Cox Mill Elementary School, replacing Traci Davis, who plans to resign at the end of the school year.

 

Beane has worked in Cabarrus County Schools since 1999. Throughout her tenure, she has worked as a lead teacher and intervention specialist, dean of students, classroom culture coach and assistant principal.

 

She earned a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Beane also was a North Carolina Principal Fellow.  

 

Miranda Kincaid will join Cabarrus County Schools as an assistant principal at Cox Mill High School, replacing Jacqueline Shomaker, who plans to resign at the end of the school year.

 

Kincaid currently works as an academic coach and ELA specialist at Vicksburg High School in Vicksburg, Miss. She also is a student assessment consultant at the Mississippi Department of Education. Throughout her career, she has worked as a language arts teacher and an assistant principal.

 

She earned a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University and a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. She also completed graduate studies at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

Jeremy Hachen, principal intern at Concord High School, has been named assistant principal at the school, replacing Brett Butch, who transferred to West Cabarrus High School.

 

Hachen joined Cabarrus County Schools in 2013 as a social studies teacher at Central Cabarrus High School. He also worked as a research assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before joining the leadership team at Concord High School in 2019.

 

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

 

Beane, Kincaid and Hachen will begin their new assignments on July 1, 2020.
