John LeGrand, executive director, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, will join Cabarrus County Schools as assistant superintendent – auxiliary services, replacing Brian Schultz, who will become deputy superintendent next month.
John began his career as a social studies teacher in Lancaster County Schools (Lancaster, S.C.) in 1999. He joined Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in 2003 as a teacher and worked as an assistant principal and principal in the district before moving into his current role as executive director in 2019.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
John will begin his new role on March 9th.
