MFWC Celebrates Early Learning 04/10/2017

The Mary Frances Wall Center joined the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families during the Week of the Young Child April 3-7. Each day, activities followed a specific theme: “Music Monday”, “Artsy Tuesday”, “Weave Together Wednesday”, “Try it Thursday” and “Family Friday”.

On Thursday, April 6th, the Mary Frances Wall Center and its parent group and hosted the school’s first Spring Festival. In attendance were 17 different community organizations that included advocacy groups, youth sport programs, school family’s small businesses and local food vendors. The turnout demonstrates the commitment that the Mary Frances Wall Center has to building a strong foundation for our community’s youngest learners and their families.

The Mary Frances Wall Center also raised awareness during the week by sharing facts with families about advocacy efforts, including child abuse prevention, mental health awareness, deaf and hearing impaired, autism, Down Syndrome and premature birth.
