In response to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in our community, students, staff, and visitors to all Cabarrus County Schools buildings and schools will be required to wear a mask while inside. The requirement is effective Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, and will be in place through Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. The Cabarrus County Board of Education will hold a Special Called Meeting on Jan. 24th to discuss the issue.
Masks will continue to be required on CCS school buses. However, the mask requirement excludes students participating/enrolled in:
Athletic events, extra-curricular activities, and arts performances
Exceptional Children self-contained classrooms
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and Cabarrus Health Alliance have updated quarantine and close contact guidelines. The NCDHHS Strong Schools NC Public Health Toolkit has been updated to reflect the changes. You also can find updates about the latest guidance on our district COVID-19 Information site.
