P-EBT Helps Families Purchase Food

P-EBT Program Helps Families Purchase Food
All CCS families are encouraged to apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals. If you are approved, you may be eligible for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program, which helps families purchase food for children who have not been able to access free or reduced-priced meals at school during the COVID-19 pandemic school closures.
The P-EBT benefits will be electronically placed on an EBT card monthly and can be used to purchase food items at EBT-authorized food or grocery retailers, including most major grocery stores.
To apply for Free or Reduced-Price Meals, visit the School Nutrition website and select Free and Reduced-Price Meals located in the far-left column. There, you will find links to an online application and a printable, paper application.
The P-EBT Program is a collaborative effort between the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The P-EBT Program is authorized by the Unites States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
