In closing, I want to thank our staff, students and parents for their great work and cooperation during the severe weather on Feb. 6th. Our students and staff regularly practice for these types of situations and hope we never have to use it. But, on that day, we had to put our practice into action, and everyone did a great job by staying calm and following safety plans. I know it was a hard day, and I am thankful that we all were safe.

A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 02/14/2020
February is Black History Month. Cabarrus County Schools is proud to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions African-Americans have made to our nation and our world.
We also are celebrating Career and Technical Education Month. Cabarrus County Schools offers students a variety of courses and pathways designed to help them explore interests and pursue career options. Our district also has a dedicated staff of teachers, coordinators and academy leaders who work with our community to bring career opportunities to our students.
Cabarrus County Schools will host a Job Fair on Monday, Feb. 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Auxiliary Services Center, 111 Union Cemetery Road in Concord. Full and part-time positions are available for cafeteria workers, bus drivers, custodians and childcare workers. You can visit our district website at www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us for details.
The Cabarrus County Board of Education approved new elementary school attendance boundaries for Cox Mill Elementary, W.R. Odell Primary, W.R. Odell Elementary and Charles E. Boger Elementary Schools at its business meeting on Feb. 10th. The new boundaries will be effective for the 2020-2021 school year. The realignment is being implemented in response to severe overcrowding at Cox Mill Elementary School and to accommodate residential growth in the area. Letters will be mailed to all families affected. Visit our district website at www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/realignment for additional information.
