Superintendent's Message
May 15, 2019

Superintendent Lowder Graduation season is upon us. Our first graduates of the Class of 2019 will don their caps and gowns on May 18th as the Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College High School celebrates its commencement exercises. You can find information about all of the district’s high school graduations on our graduation website

New interactive boundary maps are now available on our district website. This is where you can find school assignments for the 2020-2021 school year, as well as current school assignments.

Congratulations to Rocky River Elementary School (RRES) on its recent designation as a Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). RRES students have logged more than 75 hours of volunteer time this school year, earning them Gold Status. The PVSA is the premier volunteer awards program for citizens. It was founded in 2003 by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation and has continued under each administration since then.

Last week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week. I just wanted to take a moment to say “thank you” to the incredible teachers in our district who do so much for our students every day. We also celebrated our school nurses last week. I am grateful for the care they provide to our students and am thankful for our district’s partnership with the Cabarrus Health Alliance.

As we approach end-of-year testing, our schools will need volunteer proctors. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact a school directly. We appreciate your support.

Chris Lowder, Ed.D.
