A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 04/11/2019
Superintendent Lowder Congratulations to Katherine Highsmith, who was named the CCS Teacher of the Year for 2019-2020 at a special celebration on April 9th. Mrs. Highsmith is a global inquiry and design teacher at Weddington Hills Elementary School. She is an exceptional educator who is able to connect with her students and make learning meaningful to them.
I also want to say thank you to the many sponsors for our Teacher of the Year event. We are grateful for their support and partnership.

This week, the annual Special Olympics Cabarrus County Spring Games took place at the Cabarrus Arena. Hundreds of athletes participated in a variety of track and field events. We were excited to watch our athletes compete and are thankful to the many teachers, helpers, family, friends, and volunteers who help make this a wonderful event each year. 
We also are celebrating National Assistant Principals Week this week. Cabarrus County Schools is fortunate to have excellent assistant principals who play an essential role in leading our schools. We appreciate their commitment, dedication, and professionalism in our district.
