A Message from Dr. Chris Lowder, Superintendent 01/03/2019

Superintendent Lowder
Happy New Year!

I hope your winter break was enjoyable and that you were able to spend time with family and friends.

Now it’s time to finish up the first semester. As a reminder to our high school students and parents, we will begin a new schedule on Monday, Jan. 7th, which extends the high school day by three minutes. High schools will dismiss at 2:18 p.m. These added minutes will allow us to have additional days that can be forgiven in the event of inclement weather throughout the winter.

High school students will take end-of-course exams beginning Jan. 14th.  Exam days also are early dismissal days for high school students, so please plan accordingly.

Here are a few other important dates for your calendars:
Monday, Jan. 7th – Student Realignment Committee Presentation to Board of Education at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 9th – District Spelling Bee 7 p.m. at Winkler Middle School
Thursday, Jan. 17th – Dedication Ceremony for new Performance Learning Center at 6 p.m.

This month is School Board Appreciation Month. Cabarrus County Schools is grateful to our Board of Education members for their service to our students and our system. Our board members are active, involved citizens who voluntarily give their personal time to support our district, students and staff. We appreciate their commitment and thank them for their dedication.

Chris
