It’s also the new tagline for our district. If you haven’t already, you will begin seeing it on our official communications. The tagline was inspired by our vision and mission, which were released in May 2016. It illustrates and interprets our mission of empowering students to build their futures. The mission and vision were revamped in conjunction with the release of the Strategic Plan for 2016-2018.
You can learn more about the Strategic Plan by visiting our digital magazine – CCS LookBook or on our district website (See Useful Links section). We’ve also put new posters that highlight our mission, vision, beliefs, and tagline along with limited copies of a Strategic Plan Highlights brochure in each of our schools.
Last month, our Board of Education voted to delay the opening of the new Royal Oaks Elementary School until Fall 2018. The original opening date was January 2018. The delay will prevent Royal Oaks and Boger Elementary students and staff from having to undergo a major disruption with a move mid-school year, and it will allow the entire Royal Oaks student body will experience the opening of the new school together in August 2018 after redistricting is complete.
In other news, I am pleased to share that our Technology Department was featured in the winter edition of Toggle magazine, a quarterly trade journal that highlights the vital role technology plays in a variety of companies and organizations. You can read the article here.

We also recognized our school counselors the week of February 6th and celebrated the 100th Day of School on Feb. 8th.
