Dr. Kogo-Masila creates student-centered lessons to help build students’ skills in problem solving, creativity and teamwork through her interactive labs in Foods I and Foods II.
As the lead teacher for the Family and Consumer Science Area, she motivates her FACS team by conducting a PLC of information sharing and marketing their pathway courses to increase student enrollment next year. As a result, CTE will be offering stand-alone Food II Honors for the first-time in CCHS history next year and adding a new Pre-Construction Pathway with the inclusion of new Interior Design courses for 2019-20. Additionally, She serves as a mentor teacher for two new CTE teachers at CCHS.
She builds student leaders in CTE by serving as the Co-Advisor of National Technical Honor Society along with Mr. Koceja & Ms. Zimmerman. CCHS NTHS Chapter has increased active membership, developed student-led activities, showcased CTE program to stakeholders and created partnerships with local church and CC Griffin for community service for membership.
