Nike EMPOWERment Camp at Concord IB Middle School

  • The inaugural Nike EMPOWERment Camp is in session and EMPOWER could not be more excited about our partnership with Nike, Concord IB Middle School, and Title 1 Coordinator Amy (Violette) Slagle. The Nike EMPOWERment Camp aims to provide scholars equitable access closing the achievement gap by extended learning opportunities incorporating intentional academic interventions, movement, and soft skills development/teambuilding. Camp Vision: Engage to learn. Learn to move. Move to grow. The October 10th, signing day kick-off was the perfect touch to ignite the scholars' desire to meet their individual goals! Just do it!

EMPOWER Never Too Early (NTE) Tours

  • The purpose of EMPOWER NTE tours is to establish a college-going culture and expose scholars to post-secondary education pathways as early as possible. Selected scholars in 5th - 8th grades are invited to attend and one parent/guardian is invited to attend with them. Campus scavenger hunts and panel discussions are apart of the enriching tour day, which includes a visit that extends the scholar's learning in the areas of cultural relevancy and social justice. EMPOWER's mission is to make college tangible and ignite college dreams!
