On Monday, November 2nd, only sophomores with the last names of A-K will report to school. Tuesday, November 3rd is a teacher workday for ALL students, and Wednesday, November 4th, only sophomores with the last name of L-Z should report to school.
On Monday and Wednesday, Sophomores will be taking the PreACT test which offers sophomores an early experience with ACT test items and provides a predicted ACT test score. In order to support student success on the ACT, North Carolina administers the PreACT assessment in the 10th grade. The PreACT is a diagnostic assessment that predicts future performance on the ACT. It also provides information to help parents, teachers, and students determine future goals. All sophomores, regardless of face-to face or remote designation, are required to attend school during on their designated test day next week. Face-to-face students who ride the bus will have transportation provided, and students who are virtual must provide their own transportation. Reporting time begins at 6:45 and testing will begin at 7:30. Students will be dismissed at 11:30, and any sophomore student with testing accommodations, such as extended time, will be responsible for obtaining afternoon transportation. Please see the school website and testing website for further information, including a link for students who would like lunch.
ALL students, including testing sophomores, will have asynchronous learning on Monday and Wednesday next week, and we will return to our normal Plan B schedule on Thursday for students with the last names of L-Z.
At Northwest Cabarrus High School we will value, teach, and empower each student in a culture of educational excellence.
