Carla Bridges Black, Principal

Ms. Black is a dedicated, proven leader with sixteen years of principal experience.

In all, Ms. Black has served as an educator in Cabarrus County Schools for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from Winston Salem State University in 1991 and her Master of Science in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a prestigious Principal Fellow.

Ms. Black has served as an English Teacher at Central Cabarrus High School, a 6th grade Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher at Concord Middle School, Assistant Principal at Irvin Elementary, Principal at R Brown McAllister and she served ten years as principal at Concord High before joining the Eagle family as principal in 2016.
A few of Ms. Black’s honors and awards are as follows:
1995-96-Teacher of Year at Concord Middle
2003-Coach of the Year, Cabarrus County Boys and Girls Club
2009-Principal of the Year, Cabarrus County Schools
2013-Educator of the Decade, Cabarrus County NAACP

Under her leadership ECHS has been named a 2018 Niche Top Ten Magnet School and a NC " A" School 2017 and 2018

Ms. Black has served on both the NC High School Athletic Association Board as well as a the Cabarrus County Education Foundation Board and is an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Concord, NC. She is also serving on the AL Harper Foundation board that supports students attending Historically Black Colleges & Universities and the Cabarrus County Education Foundation as a board member. She is a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and serves in the Scripture ALIVE! ministry and the Music & Arts ministry.

Dr. Chrystal Ages Brown

Dr. Brown is currently in her twentieth year in education and is excited to be serving students and families at the Early College.  She is a servant leader who inspires students and staff to reach their potential and push beyond their comfort level to reach their highest levels of success. 


Additionally, Dr. Brown is an Instructor at Western Governors University where she supports teacher candidates through their student teaching process.  Dr. Brown's has previously served as a Math Teacher (9-12 & post-secondary), College Liaison, edTPA evaluator and Dept. of Ed Grant Reviewer.  She is a business owner, author and sits on the board of directors for non-profit organizations in the Concord and Charlotte community.  


Dr. Brown earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University North Carolina at Charlotte, her Masters in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University and her Bachelor’s in Mathematics from South Carolina State University.  


Outside of work, Dr. Brown has been married for fifteen years and has three daughters.  She enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, crafting, and traveling.

Mr. Dawson Roberts

Mr. Roberts joined our team in the 2021-2022 school year after moving with his wife from Milledgeville, Georgia. He started his career in education in 2013 after receiving his Master's in Secondary Education from Georgia College and State University and accepting a position as the high school English teacher for Georgia College Early College. After earning his Specialist's in Educational Leadership in 2017, Mr. Roberts moved up to the district level to become the first Instructional Technology Specialist of Baldwin County. While in this position, he also developed and administrated Baldwin Online Academy, a 100% Online public school option for his school district. 

Mr. Roberts brings with him a wealth of instructional and technical knowledge to support our entire school community as we continue to embrace the embrace and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of learning in the 21st century.
