Carla Bridges Black

Ms. Black is a dedicated, proven leader with sixteen years of principal experience.

In all, Ms. Black has served as an educator in Cabarrus County Schools for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from Winston Salem State University in 1991 and her Master of Science in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a prestigious Principal Fellow.

 
Ms. Black has served as an English Teacher at Central Cabarrus High School, a 6th grade Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher at Concord Middle School, Assistant Principal at Irvin Elementary, Principal at R Brown McAllister and she served ten years as principal at Concord High before joining the Eagle family as principal in 2016.

Ms. Black has served on both the NC High School Athletic Association Board as well as a the Cabarrus County Education Foundation Board and is an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Concord, NC. She is also serving on the AL Harper Foundation board that supports students attending Historically Black Colleges & Universities and the Cabarrus County Education Foundation as a board member. She is a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and serves in the Scripture ALIVE! ministry and the Music & Arts ministry.

Amy Cummings

Amy Cummings is in her third year as Dean of Students for CKECHS. 

She received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Social Studies with secondary teacher licensure from Averett University and earned her Master of Science in Educational Media Technology and Library Media from Radford University. She earned her Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia Curry School of Education.

Mrs. Cummings began her career as a Social Studies teacher at her alma mater, Dan River High School in Ringgold, VA. After moving to the Roanoke, VA area she began working for Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, VA, where she spent 6 years, first as a social studies teacher and then as a Library Media Specialist. She then became the Library Media Specialist at Hidden Valley Middle School in Roanoke County, VA. She served as Roanoke County’s Supervisor of Social Studies and Library Media Services from 2008 to 2017.

During her time as an educator, Mrs. Cummings has had the following affiliations and awards:
