Mr. Rob Bates

ART INSTRUCTOR

Welcome parents and students, this is my third year as a visual arts instructor and my second year teaching STEM design at Northwest. Outside of academia, my experiences in art include editorial illustration, journalism, and gallery exhibitions. Some of my art documenting the post 9/11 war effort permanently resides at the Smithsonian Museum of American History, National Museum of the Marine Corps, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the American Embassy in Bejing, China, and other venues.

I chose to transition from the art world to education because of the positive impact that I could make on the lives of teenagers. Furthermore, I get to draw, paint, build, and design cool things with my students everyday!

The best way to contact me is via email beneath my picture. I look forward to meeting you and your students!
