Ms. Devon Brunson

My name is Devon Brunson, and I am a full-time speech-language pathologist with Cabarrus County Schools. I earned my BA in Hearing & Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland at College Park and my MS in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. I am licensed by the state of North Carolina and have received certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to practice in my field. Clinically, I have worked with early intervention populations (speech-language delays, autism), in addition to adults with autism, brain injury, dementia, motor speech disorders, and aphasia. I'm personally very passionate about supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.

This is my second year at AT Allen Elementary! Communication is an integral part of academic success, which all students should have access to. My role is to help students gain a greater awareness, understanding, and appreciation for their communicative needs and to turn those needs into strengths. I look forward to working with you and your student's teachers to enhance their communicative independence and growth. Please feel free to browse through the links on my webpage for resources regarding various communication disorders and simple activities for students at home.
