Welcome to CTE Food and Nutrition 1!  I am a graduate of Norfolk State University with a B.S. degree in Hotel/Restaurant/Institutional Management.   I served 22 years in the United States Navy (USNR Ret.) as a Culinary Specialist.  I owned a specialty boutique bakery, Saturday Morning Cakes, in Harrisburg, NC., where I specialized in Wedding & Sculpted Cakes. 

I am delighted to teach Foods and Nutrition1 this semester!  I hope that your participation in my class will spark an interest in the Foods and Nutrition profession.

Good Morning Foodies!   Remote learning takes place for my classes on Microsoft Teams where I will conduct live instruction and office hours. Documents such as activity sheets, links to my Microsoft Teams page, syllabus and more will be accessible on my Canvas page.  Students should visit the Canvas course that goes along with each course. Students can access the Canvas course when they are logged into the HRHS home page and it will pop up on their dashboard.  All lessons and assignments are posted on the Canvas course. All work should be submitted directly to Canvas by the assigned date.
