The 2020-2021 Science Club will operate a little differently this year. We are inviting ALL students, any grade, to be a part of the Science Club. All meetings will be virtual and accessible at any time during the month. Our plan is to present one activity per month and post it here on the Science Club page. A list of materials that will be needed for experiments will be posted during the first week of each month. This should allow enough time for parents and students to be prepared for the meeting. During the second week, we will post a video of our lesson, and step-by-step instructions. Students will be able to replay the lesson and review it multiple times.
There will not be any emails or sign-ups this year due to the quarantine.
We will be coordinating with various groups this year to arrange hands-on experiences that coordinate with each grade level's science curriculum. These groups are not funded by the school therefore our club relies on donations and profits from the t-shirt sales to fund these presenters as well as purchase equipment and supplies for our meetings. Students may (though not required) purchase a 2018- 2019 design short sleeve shirt for $15.00 or a 2018-2019 long sleeve shirt for $20.00. Order forms are available on the school website. Any funds accumulated from the sale of the shirts goes into the club account for expenses. If you would like to purchase a Science Club T-Shirt, please click here to access the Science Club Canvas Page. T-shirt order forms can be found there. If you would like to make a donation to our club, please make checks payable to CMES and note Science Club on the check. ALL donations are greatly appreciated!Volunteers are welcome to come and assist with meetings. High school students who would like to earn community service hours should contact Mrs. Stout for details. Students generally earn two hours credit for each meeting and may attend as many as they would like.We look forward to seeing you there!
