Mr. Daniel Maxwell

Welcome to my webpage!

I teach AP European History and American History and serve as an Advisor for Central's Peer Mentor Partnership with AT Allen Elementary.  I am passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for my students.  My goal is making meaningful educational experiences available to all of my students and creating the opportunity for all students to learn and develop important life skills along the way.  I look forward to working with you this year.

In addition to being a proud member of the Viking family, I also serve as an instructor with the UNC Charlotte Cato College of Education where I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies.  Go Niners! Go Vikings!

If you are interested in taking the Senior AP Combo (AP Literature/European History) feel free to contact me anytime.  Taking the Senior Combo is one of the best ways you can increase your chances of acceptance into competitive universities by demonstrating your desire to pursue a rigorous academic schedule during your senior year.

AP European History Students

CollegeBoard has worked hard to create a vast array of resources that are now accessible for the 2019-2020 school year.  To access these resources in the 'AP Classroom' online system, use the following link (the link is also available in Canvas).  Our course Join Code can be found written on the board at the back of the class.

Canvas - Learning Management System

Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) that Cabarrus County Schools will be using this school year.  I use Canvas extensively to create courses where all materials are readily accessible to all students.  Canvas is similar to many other LMS's (Moodle, Blackboard, etc.) that are used in colleges around the nation to improve organization and provide students with electronic access to instructional resources.  Instructions for parent and student access to Canvas can be found below.

Students - Go to https://cabarrus.instructure.com and enter your school computer username and password (click Login)

Parents - Refer to the Document Tab (Left Side of Page) and download the Canvas Instructions for Parents File

Important Canvas Note - While Canvas does store and show grades, it does not show every grade that students receive.  PowerSchool should still be monitored to view student grades.
