Hello,

My name is Mrs. Mullen (Carroll) and am honored to say this is my seventh year teaching here at Cox Mill High School.  I will be teaching Freshmen Health and PE , and the NEW Modern Fitness.  I am originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, where I attended Lackawanna College (associates) and received my Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with a minor in Health Education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

In September of 2020, I began an amazing training with Breathe for Change. This training has impacted my life in MANY ways, including now being certified in: 

SEL*F -> Social Emotional Learning Facilitator

AND

As of March 21,2021, I am officially a CYT 200 (Certified Yoga Teacher 200hours).

    “ At the start, I wanted NO part of the self-reflection since I thought it was unnecessary.  I later realized that my way of dealing with stuff in my life was destructive and started to actively listen to all the things you had to say.  It took a while to get me to understand, but that was because of my dismissive nature.  When I did listen, I looked forward to the things you had to say because they helped both me and the ones I told about your methods. That, in my eyes, is a huge difference. 

      I loved the breathwork and mind/thought techniques you taught us and there are many times I used them in my personal life. Your class managed to help me even though I didn’t want it at the start.

       I would add that most importantly, the materials taught in this class changed my overall outlook.  I now search for ways to improve my quality of life instead of calling myself strong, since I did not need help. I now welcome help to better myself.”
