Mrs. Dianna Singler

Welcome to Learning Connections and Hickory Ridge High School.

The Learning Connections program allows students to strive for their highest potential within an environment that nurtures special limitations and fosters growth. I believe each student can achieve goals and accomplish dreams with hard work, responsibility, accountability, and integrity; and we will help them each step of the way. The LC classroom provides supports to students as they work toward achieving their academic and social goals.

In my seventh year of classroom teaching, I earned a Master's of Art in Teaching in Special Education in December 2016 after spending more than 20 years in the public relations and marketing field – working for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and with various NASCAR drivers and sponsors afterward. My bachelor’s degree is in public relations from the University of Florida. I always had an interest in education and decided to make the leap in 2013 by attending classes at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte.

As we begin yet another semester in the Learning Connections classroom, I look forward to new adventures with different subjects.

During the Spring 2022 semester in Learning Connections, we will be collaborating on the following subjects in the classroom:

1st period: Math 1, Math 3 and Employment Prep I

2nd period: Blended Applied Science and Biology

3rd period: American History I and Blended American Civics

4th period: Planning

Away from school, our family enjoys attending and watching sports events along with going to concerts. We also like going to our son's hockey games and listening to him play the saxophone for Hickory Ridge High School Marching Band -- our dogs often join in during practice sessions at home. As time allows, we travel around the United States, taking in as many sites as we can.

Please feel free to contact me anytime via email ( or phone (704-260-6630).  Remind app is also available to reach me via text.  I will return emails and phone calls within 24 hours at the latest.

Unfortunately, I am unable to meet live this evening due to the home basketball games. All of the course curriculums are posted on the Cabarrus County website at We will be following these "maps" and you can follow your child's progress by becoming observers in Canvas and logging into the NCVPS Canvas courses through your child's account. I am also available to speak with you any time during the hours between 12:45 and 2:30 p.m.
