My name is Virginia and I am a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing working with children with hearing loss on developing listening, language, and vocabulary skills at the Mary Frances Wall Center. I obtained an undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a graduate degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in the fields of Education of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing and Language Development and Learning. I am also a Certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS Cert. AVEd) through the Alexandar Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Academy). I live in Kannapolis with my son, my husband (who is also a teacher), and our numerous pets.
I am Lead Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Cabarrus County Schools. I currently co-teach in a blended classroom for children with hearing loss at The Mary Frances Wall Center. We are the "Snazzy Snails" and work daily on listening, language, and vocablary skills, as well as social and emotional development. We are very excited to meet your little Snail!
