No Live Meeting. My hot spot is not getting a good signal, plan on meeting Monday.
September 15 and 16:
Follow instructions on Canvas. No Live meetings. Watch all recordings.
Live meeting today. Be sure any zeroes you currently have are completed and turned in by midnight tomorrow night (Tues. Sept. 15)
The LIVE team meeting for next week will be on Wednesday, not Tuesday as stated below. Please use the links to join the meeting NEXT WEDNESDAY at your appointed class time.
Please be sure you are logging into canvas each day and completing the required assignments.
At this time I would like for everyone to be prepared to meet LIVE on microsoft teams next Tuesday September 8 at your appointed class time. Use the links below to log into the meeting.
If anything changes with my situation I will let you know before Monday night.
Everyone have a good rest of the week and a great 3 day weekend.
Well, another week and we somehow made it through. I know this has been difficult, actually more difficult for some than for others. As I have said before, I really apologize for not being able to meet with you on a daily basis. Unfortunately, we will not meet live next week at all.
I am in a location where I have very limited access to the internet and will be here with my father for all of next week. For those of you that have been asking about him, he is currently in rehab but still has a lot of medical issues we are trying to get under control. Hopefully, this week will show more signs of improvement.
Everything is posted in canvas for next week. If you have problems please send me a remind or email and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. Please be patient.
Have a Good Weekend!!
We met "live" today on teams. Thank you to those of you who joined in. If you were unable to join don't worry. Microsoft is having all kinds of problems with teams. We will meet live again next week, but I don't know what day yet. I am heading back to Ohio for my Dad today. I will keep you posted on my web page, through remind and through teams.
I am posting new links to the team below because some of you said when you clicked on the one I had here at the bottom of the page it wouldn't work. (That was probably a teams issue...but just in case)
Keep turning in your assignments, remember to read directions carefully about what should or should not be turned in. And if you need me please send me an email or contact me through remind.

If for some reason you could not get an assignment completed and turned in to me by Friday I will extend the deadline until this coming Friday because of technical issues that have been happening.
We will meet in Microsoft teams "Live" on Tuesday. Please use the same link that you used last week. It is posted on my web page. Also, assignments for next week are in Canvas, please be sure to log in each day to Canvas and continue completing assignments.

Hello and Welcome to the 1st Semester of the 2020-2021 school year!
I'm sure most of you are wondering how I am going to teach and how you are going to learn about Foods when we are doing all of this remotely. I am going to keep everything very simple and hopefully within a few weeks we will be back in class at least one day a week. Until then, this is the plan:
1. We will start off with basic information that we would be learning in the classroom. Safety and Sanitation will be a big focus this year, so we will begin with that. Most of the information I need you to learn will be presented by power point. We will be using Canvas. I will then assign projects or daily class work to reinforce this information. Please remember that all work will be graded this semester and it is very important that everyone keep up with what we are doing.
2. Once we are back in class each student will be expected to use the information we are learning remotely and put it into practice in the kitchen.
3. If we do not make it back to school within approximately 1 month I will begin doing demonstrations via videos. These demos. will enable students to work with me to prepare various dishes in the kitchen at home. If it comes to this I will give you updated information on how we will accomplish this.
In the meantime, please check this web page daily. I will put updates here. I would also like to start Remind groups. These worked great last spring. I will need your name and the phone number that you can be reached on. Please email me this information and I will try to have a group together for each of my classes by the end of the first week of school. Therefore, please get your email to me no later than Tuesday Aug. 18 at 5:00 pm.
Also, we will be using Microsoft teams for face to face communication. I will send out more information regarding these meeting times later this week. Please check back.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me by email this is the best and fastest way to reach me. The biggest thing I want all of my students to remember is this: NO STRESS!! I am going to try and live by this as well. Typically, this class is very hands on and I get to know all of my students very well by working with them in the kitchens. Unfortunately, that will not happen any time soon. As a result we are all experiencing new ways to teach and learn. I will be patient with you if you will be patient with me.
I'm looking forward to eventually meeting each of you in person.
