Mrs. Sherry Lee
Principal

I am honored to be serving as the principal of J.N. Fries Magnet School. Prior to working at J.N. Fries Magnet School, I served as the assistant principal at Harris Road Middle School.  I spent many years as an elementary teacher in Cabarrus County Schools before moving to administration.  I received my Masters in School Administration as a participant in the Principal Fellows Program at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I also received my Bachelors degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. 

My husband and I are the parents of three teenage children.  We spend the majority of our time supporting our children in their various activities.  My hobbies include running, gardening, hiking and snuggling with our two Labrador Retrievers.

Mrs. Micah Thompson
Assistant Principal

I am a proud to be a Noble Knight and member of the JN Fries leadership team. Prior to my role as assistant principal at JN Fries, I served as principal intern at CC Griffin STEM Middle School through the North Carolina Principal Fellows program and taught elementary school at W.M. Irvin Elementary School. I am proud to serve in Cabarrus County Schools.

I earned a Masters in School Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. When not on campus, you’ll find me with my husband and two little girls. We love to spend time outside and at sporting events.

Mrs. Germeka Ogundapo
Assistant Principal

I am excited to be serving as Assistant Principal to the JN Fries family. I am originally from Sanford, NC. I served as a Elementary teacher for 10 years and a Dean of Students for 3 years in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. 
 
I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for Elementary Education and my Masters degree from Gardner Webb University for Educational Leadership. My husband and I are proud parents of our daughter, Mckenzie. When I'm not at work, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Christopher Campbell
Dean of Students

I am thrilled to be continuing my career at J.N. Fries Magnet Middle School and stepping into the role of Dean of Students. I began my teaching career in my hometown of Lenoir, NC teaching 7th and 8th grade language arts and social studies for the Caldwell County School district. Prior to serving as Dean, I taught 8thgrade language arts and social studies at J.N. Fries for 4 years.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in middle grades education from Western Carolina University as a part of the NC Teaching Fellows Program. Following my undergraduate degree, I received a Master’s in Higher Education from Appalachian State University and a School Administration add-on license from Gardner-Webb University. When I am not in school, my wife and I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
