My name is Christy Bentley and I am so excited to be a part of Hickory Ridge High School!  More importantly I am EXCITED to be your teacher!  It's going to a be a great semester full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can't wait to see what the semester has in store for us.  I can't wait to get to know each of you, but first I am going to tell you a few things about myself.
I was born in Mount Airy, NC also known as Mayberry because of it being Andy Griffith's hometown. I attended college at UNC Charlotte for two years as an art major concentrating in graphic design.  Through my experiences as a subsitute teacher I discovered my passion for Mathematics and Teaching which lead me to transfer to East Carolina University.  I earned my degree in Middle School Education with concentrations in Math and Science.  After graduating college I taught 7th grade Math in Raleigh for two years and moved to Charlotte in 2002 where I taught 7th Math, 8th Algebra 1, and high school Algebra 1/Math 1.  I joined Hickory Ridge in January 2014 and can not believe I am starting my 21st year of teaching.
I have been married for 13 years to my wonderful husband Andy and we have two of the most energetic, adorable little boys.   My oldest son is Parker and he is eleven and my youngest son Hudson is eight!  They are both SO much fun even though they keep us busy and on our toes at all times.
