There were a lot of challenges this year. First there was the water bottle flip challenge and then the mannequin challenge. But did you know that there was a challenge going on right here on the MPMS campus?  Mrs. Haney challenged her students to read 40 books this year.  There were 12 kids who completed the challenge. Mrs. Haney would like to congratulate the following students on their hard work and dedication to reading this year and completing the 40 book challenge: Malinda Davis, Haley Becker, Keaton Aschenbrenner, Emoni Heiligh, Erin Stroud, Reagan Waggoner, Addison Sepesi, Cade Schell, Jackson Smith, Emi Rowland
    Lucas Saunders, and Chris Long

In addition to completing an athletic packet and having an updated physical, it is required that all athletes have at least one parent attend an athletic parent meeting before they participate in sports at MPHS. Parents are only required to attend one general parent meeting per year, regardless of how many sports their child participates in.

Meeting dates for this summer are Tuesday, June 20 and Tuesday July 25.  Both meetings will be held at 7:00pm in the MPHS Auditorium.

Attention, rising 7th and 8th grade students: Student Council applications are available outside Ms. Sirse and Mrs. Cottingham's rooms. These MUST be returned by today!

6th or 7th graders interested in Tiger Tuff camp or baseball camp over the summer need to see Coach Willis today in the main gym to pick up the packet of information.

The word of the day is rationing. It means a fixed allowance of provisions or food, especially for soldiers or sailors or for civilians during a shortage. In a sentence you could say: Although the soldier was hungry, he gave his daily rationing to the starving child.

The word of the day is federalism. It means a type of government which gives central authority to the federal government with limited states’ rights. In a sentence, you could say: Since each territory would have separate laws, the new country’s leaders realized that federalism allowed more control to the president.
