Miss Austin

I am excited to begin the school year at Cox Mill High School.  This will be my seventh year here at Cox Mill.  I previously taught at A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, North Carolina.  I am originally from Michigan and graduated from Hope College.  I am a National Board Certified Teacher in English Language Arts.  I graduated from UNCC with a Masters in English Literature.  Currently, I am teaching English II Academy, Honors English IV, and AP Literature classes. I am the School Improvement Team Chairperson and the co-graduation coordinator for Cox Mill High School.  Some of my favorite novels are Pride and Prejudice and Tess of D'Ubervilles.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Rebecca.austin@cabarrus.k12.nc.us
English II Honors versus English II

In my classes, I use Remind, a texting application, to relay important assignments and reminders to each class.  Students are not able to text the number back, and the number is not able to contact individual students directly.  This is not a source for homework help.  Although students are not required to subscribe, students and I have found that this is of great assistance in remembering deadlines, and it can also be a great use to parents in keeping them aware of their student’s assignments.  If you’d like to subscribe to receive these texts as well (standard text rates do apply), feel free to do so.  The information needed to subscribe can be found below:
