Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Gerard (GT) Curtis
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am married with two beautiful children.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from LSU at New Orleans (U.N.O.) majoring in Spanish and Paralegal Studies. Following graduation I applied to and was accepted to Southern University Law Center in 2005.
In my first semester of Law School, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast region and forced my family and I to move to North Carolina where I decided to give back to society by leaving a promising legal career and becoming a teacher.
I have been honored as the 2012 Rocky River (CMS) High School "Teacher of the Year"; the 2011 Mecklenburg County “Mentor of the Year” Finalist; 2010/2011 & 2011/ 2012 Member of the #1 Intervention Team for “At Risk” students in C.M.S. Eastern District; the 2010 C.M.S. “I-Meck 4A Boys Conference Champions” Sprint Track Coach.
I have taught every level of Spanish including Spanish for Native speakers. I have also served on the Intervention & Behavioral Management Team Member, as a Sprint Track Coach, Field Events Coach, Homebound Teacher, and as a N.C. Virtual Public Schools’ mentor.
Additional accomplishments: Published Author of the book “Random Wisdom for the Fatherless Child;” American Bar Association Certified Paralegal; Certified E-Discovery Project Manager.
