Mrs. Susan Suther
Mrs. Suther grew up in Cabarrus County. She attended NC State University earning two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Mathematics and one in Education. As the wife of a career Air Force officer, she lived in California for six years where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from Chapman University while working for the University as Director of its Residence Education Program at March AFB. Then she moved to Oklahoma for nine years where her children were born. Next stop was across the pond to Germany where she enjoyed visits to many European countries before returning stateside in 1996. Mrs. Suther has been teaching in Cabarrus County for 15 years. She enjoys cooking, sewing, making jewelry, and gardening. Her husband continues to teach pilots how to fly in Georgia; her son, Jonathan, is a Doctor at the University of Tennessee Medical School at Knoxville; her daughter, Stefanie, is Manager of Albemarle’s Cato retail clothing store. Mrs. Suther has one grandchild, Samantha, who she visits frequently in Knoxville. The Suther household currently includes three dogs and four cats, all rescue animals.
