Thank you for visiting my page. This will be my tenth year as a Charger! I have been teaching at CMHS since the school opened in the fall of 2009.
 
I moved to the Charlotte area after graduating from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where I majored in English and minored in Business Administration and Latin American Studies. I then earned my Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte.
 
When I'm not at school, I enjoy traveling with husband Adi and spending time outdoors with our fluffy little dog named Bowie. I'm looking forward to a great year together!

    A note about Academy, also known as AoIT: My classes will have students who may or may not be part of the AoIT cohort. All students will be part of a blended learning environment, and there will be technology integrated in the curriculum day to day.
     
    What's New at CMHS?
     
    • We are now using a learning management system called Canvas. Please refer to Canvas for announcements, assignments, class files and more. These are the instructions for creating a parent account:

      1. Visit the following website: cabarrus.instructure.com/login/canvas

      2. On this page, you should see the box below. Click on “Click Here For an Account”

      3. The following information box will appear: Your name, Your email, Child's username, Child's password. Complete the information in the box. The child’s username and password will be their student ID number.

    • Intervention Schedule - from 10:09AM to 10:50AM, students will have time to make up class work, complete extension activities, review tests and quizzes and more. The schedule follows the day of the week: on Monday, students return to first period; on Tuesday, students return to second period; on Wednesday, students return to third period; on Thursday, students return to fourth period; and on Friday, students go to their homeroom classroom. In homeroom, students are often given important school information. When there is extra time, the period becomes a quiet study hall. Students should bring all materials needed to use homeroom time productively such as ACT practice or independent reading.
