Scholastic Book Orders

  •  Scholastic Book Club is a great way to purchase books for your child and our classroom.  Look for great deals like $1 books each month!  You can send your order in with your child and the money or you can order online at home. The online website is: www.scholastic.com/readingclub Our class activation code is: GKC8V

If you wish to purchase books from Scholastic Book Order, please order online or send in order form with money by due date stated at top of Scholastic flyer sent home
Book order flyers will be sent home approximately once a month.

Background Checks

  • Want to volunteer in our classroom or attend field trips with your child?  You must have completed a background check beforehand; this is a Cabarrus County Policy.  It takes approximately 3 weeks for the background checks to go through the system.  My advice would be to go ahead and complete one now so that you are set when the occasion arises.
If you know an aunt, uncle, grandparent, or another adult will also want to attend a field trip, they must also have completed a background check 3 weeks prior to the trip.

Forms can be found on the Bethel website.

Ms. Baker

Welcome to 2nd grade!  I'm excited to work with you and your child this year.  This year will mark my thirteenth year of teaching at Bethel Elementary.  I've had a relaxing summer by enjoying spending time with my family and dog.  I have two nieces, which I will talk about a lot! I grew up in Stanfield, NC and graduated from West Stanly High School.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and my Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Wingate University.    I have taught 1st grade for 2 years,  second grade for four years, 3rd grade for three years, a 2nd/3rd combo one year, and 4th grade for one year.

I love to provoke curiosity and wonder during instruction.  I want students to be self driven and want them to find the answers they wonder about.  I also like to create a sense of organization among the students to encourage independence and personal responsibility.    I am here to work with you as a team.  Please contact me when you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

**Please update Bethel's contact information with our new phone number.
