I have been teaching Visual Arts at Central Cabarrus for fourteen years.  I love ART and believe that all students can be successful in art courses.  My specialization is in Ceramics although I enjoy exploring all forms of Visual Arts.

Important Information

  • Our classes will be using Canvas.  

     

    All Arts Courses have a fee to defray the cost of Art Supplies; this is even more important during remote learning as we are not allowed to share any supplies

     

    The fees may be paid online Pay Fees HERE or by check made payable to Central Cabarrus High School and mailed to Central Cabarrus High School/505 Hwy 49S/Concord, NC 28025 Attn: Elizabeth Skeens.  

    Design and Photography: $10

    Ceramics: $20

     

     

     Ceramics students will need: 

    • Sketchbook or Notebook
    • Pencils 
    • Papertowels (1 roll)
    • Plastic Bags (just a few)
    • Empty Milk Jug or expired plastic gift card
    • Paper Bags
    • Glue 
    • Scissors
    • Cardboard (cereal box/cardboard box)
    • Bucket or large bowl
    • Rag or old washcloth
    • Optional: spray bottle, lotion, wipes, ruler, colored pencils

     

    Photography students will need:

    • Camera (phone, tablet, camera) **Please email me if you do not have one of these!

     

  • GRADING

    Grades will be based upon projects completed as well as additional assignments, class activities, etc.  The weights assigned are:

     

    70% Projects

    30% Classwork

     

    Students will be required to assess themselves, participate in peer feedback and will be evaluated by the instructor.
