Mrs. Lisa Flanagan
Hello! My name is Lisa Flanagan, and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Patriots STEM Elementary School. Welcome to the 2021-2022 Flock! Our classroom is mostly decorated with cute little birdies but you'll quickly learn I have an affinity for flamingos!
I grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. I attained my Masters in Reading Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Prior to coming to Patriots, I taught 10 years at Coltrane-Webb Elementary and helped launch the STEM program in the county. This is my 19th year teaching.
I have 3 children; my eldest son is a Marine, my daughter is in the US Air Force and my younger son is a 4th grader here at Patriots. I enjoy reading, seeing theater productions, baking and entertaining. My husband and I also love to try new foods!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know right away. Please know I am here to help the year go as smoothly as possible. Thank you for your support!
Mrs. Flanagan
Hi! My name is Mackenzie Trollinger and I will be spending this year in Mrs. Flanagan’s room as a student-teacher. I am currently in my final year of school at UNC Charlotte where I am obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education and will be graduating in May of 2022. Since I am working towards licensure in both elementary and special education, I will be splitting my time this year between Mrs. Flanagan’s room and another classroom at Patriots STEM Elementary.
I am from a small town in North Carolina, so going to school in Charlotte has been a huge change that I have absolutely loved. I love to do anything outdoors, bake, read, and spend time with my family and friends.
I am so excited to spend the year having hands-on experience in the classroom and learning from Mrs. Flanagan and the students. I cannot wait for this adventure towards becoming a teacher.
