Dr. Coreen Anderson

Coreen A. Anderson, Ed.D is an educator at Concord High School, where she has been since 2004. She currently teaches Food and Nutrition II as well as Teaching as a Profession 1 & 2.

She earned undergraduate degrees in Home Economics from Shortwood Teachers’ College, Jamaica, as well as in General Studies from Jamaica Theological Seminary. She received her M.A in Teaching from Wake Forest University, and her Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner-Webb University.

Her research interests span the educational gamut. Currently, her research interest is in the value of Family and Community Engagement in education. Much of her research focuses on the importance of Family and Community Engagement and its ability to impact student learning.

Her professional career outside of academia includes peer reviewing articles for publication, writing for publication, as well as partnering with peers to grow start-up businesses.

She enjoys cooking, reading fiction and non-fiction, watching 70’s & 80’s TV shows, and playing netball.
