I am the school counselor for students with last names beginning with H-O. I am also the department chair and AP coordinator.
I graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2002 with a degree in Elementary Education. I started my career in education as a 4th and 5th grade teacher. In my third year of teaching, I noticed that life can get in the way of learning and my heart led me to become a school counselor. I wanted to meet the needs of students that were becoming road blocks to academic success and provide support academically, socially, emotionally, and to help students become well-adjusted and could make their own contribution to their community.
I received my Masters degree in School Counseling K-12 from UNC Charlotte, a counseling program that is accredited by the American Counseling Association. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and a member of the American School Counseling Association. I joined the Jay M. Robinson Student Services Department in 2007 after an internship with the department in 2006.
