Ms. Annette Griffin
I have been teaching language arts for a number of years. I am a native of Cabarrus County completing all of my education in the Cabarrus County school system graduating from Central Cabarrus High School. I also graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a B.S. in Education. Go Mountaineers!! I hope that you will find a love or appreciation for reading and literature that perhaps you have not experienced until now, or that you will continue to cultivate your passion and share that love with your fellow classmates this year. I am looking forward to us having a great time learning and growing together.

All information about the class including a course syllabus with expectations
and codes/links, and all assignments with notes, links for additional materials and
activities can be found on CANVAS for all classes which are identified by content for easy reference.
Please remember that we are paperless for progress reports and report cards so please log into Parent Portal to check on your student's grades on a regular basis. If you do not have a Parent Portal login, please use the link on our CCGMS homepage to request one as teachers do not have access to this information. The students are reminded and encouraged to check grades regularly as well and to report/question any discrepancies. We have a ONE week recovery period from the date it is entered in PowerSchool to turn in missing work . Daily attendance will be taken during the homeroom period and during each class period. Teachers will also be checking for evidence of work completed if attendance during the live sessions is not possible. If a student is ill, please contact the teacher(s) so that we can document as well. If interested, there is a link on the Canvas homepage and in the Useful Links section on the left of the webpage with instructions for parents to join as an observer to assist in keeping the student on track.
Live sessions for each class will be recorded beginning the week of Aug. 24 for students who are not able to join during the assigned class time. The recordings can be accessed in the chat section of Teams. If you do not want your child recorded, please contact the homeroom teacher for the opt-out instructions.
